Stephen Honeyman

Stephen was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire and studied the piano under the tutelage of Kate (Mavis) Elmitt. For his final Piano exam, he went to London and was examined by Dr. Harold Darke who awarded a "special honours distinction" and also advised Stephen that he possessed "Perfect Pitch." At the age of 14 he started to play the organ in Bushey Parish Church, and took lessons from the Watford School of Music. He has deputised for many organists around the "Home Counties." More recently he played the organ in various locations across Europe, most notably in Oberammergau, Unterammergau, Ettal Abbey, Mittenwald, Zwiesel and St. Jacobs in Bruges.
The Penllergaer Organ is particularly difficult to play; it has a heavy tracker action and is also not tuned to pitch; it is almost a semitone sharp, which, if you have perfect pitch, can prove challenging.
Stephen is currently "filling in" at St Pauls in Sketty,
